Background

Dan has experience as a design engineer, team leader and project manager on complex mechanical systems designs used in many different industries. He is a recognized expert on the mechanical and structural design of large gates for locks and dams as well as the machinery used to operate these structures. His expertise includes the design of large machinery and motion control systems, centrifugal pumps and pump installations, turbines and generators, intake and outlet structures, hydraulic weirs, energy dissipation structures, gates, and valves, trash racks, intake and fish screens and fish passage systems.
