Guided by the UFC 4-010-01, DoD Minimum Anti-Terrorism Standards for Buildings, our engineers have provided consulting services for design of facilities throughout the country and abroad since 2003. Through this extensive experience, we bring historical knowledge and the technical background to proactively support the design team and installation representatives in adapting ATFP requirements into project specific criteria and design solutions.
Our analytical capabilities include air-blast load prediction and non-linear dynamic analysis of structural and facades elements based on the methodology of UFC 3-340-01, Design and Analysis of Hardened Structures to Conventional Weapons Effects and UFC 3-340-02, Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions. We perform progressive collapse analysis for both indirect and direct design methods in accordance with UFC 4-023-03, Design of Buildings to Resist Progressive Collapse, and work closely with our structural engineers and architects to incorporate practical, cost-effective design solutions that meet each project’s required level of protection.
We also have long-standing, professional relationships with many of the military’s physical security and force protection experts, including the USACE Protective Design Center who authored UFC 4-010-01 and other pertinent criteria documents that we regularly use in our practice. Staying current with new criteria and technical developments is critical in the implementation of state-of-practice knowledge into projects, especially at planning and conceptual stages of design.
