Tulalip Gathering Hall

KPFF provided structural engineering for the Tulalip Gathering Hall, a development of a 4.74-acre parcel on Tulalip Tribal Land in Snohomish County. A two-story structure, the Gathering Hall is approximately 45,000 SF and includes a meeting hall for up to 2,000 people, a commercial kitchen, administrative offices, and other amenities.

The roof is an exposed wood structure, focused around the Gathering Hall, with gluelam purlins spanning to long-span trusses, supported by log columns. The main level is a composite concrete structure, supported by steel columns, concrete basement walls, and concrete spread footings.
Other amenities on site include a separate cooking shelter facility, and overlook.

The tribe will use the facility for a variety of purposes: funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies, and community gatherings such as canoe journeys, Mask, Treaty Days, and Pow Wows.
