Structural Engineering
Healthcare
KPFF provided structural engineering for the 453,000 SF, eight-story expansion at St Michael Medical Center. The lower three floors of the building contain approximately 70,000 SF each, and the upper floors each contain 35,000 SF. The structure was designed to accommodate imaging suites and linear accelerators (LINACS). In addition, a five-story, 400-stall garage was built into the hillside east of the hospital designed to accommodate future vertical and horizontal expansion. A pedestrian bridge connects the garage to the third floor of the hospital. An enclosed, three-story corridor structure links the ground, first and second floors of the hospital expansion to the original hospital building.
