This multi-agency effort to upgrade the regional emergency communications infrastructure includes almost 50 project sites, with both public and private owners, as well as multiple general contractors. While the overall project is large in scale, each unique site requires individualized attention to site-specific details. A typical site includes the erection of a new radio tower, the construction of new equipment shelters, installation of fuel tanks and associated piping as well as various utility upgrades to service the new shelters. KPFF’s responsibilities include project management and onsite construction management, scheduling and cost control services, constructibility reviews for each site, contract administration, claims analysis, document management, closeout processes, management of commissioning subconsultants, construction inspection, and monitoring of all temporary erosion and sediment control measures.
