KPFF provided structural engineering for this client’s Lake Washington Village, one of four villages that comprise the client’s Campus Modernization project—a new 17-building, 2.9 million SF campus driven by the singular desire to create the “best campus in the world.” Lake Washington Village, which includes five buildings and 782,000 SF of highly flexible workplace, amenity, retail, food, and beverage space, serves as the front door to this new heart of the larger East Campus. Driven by the client’s goal of placing people at the center of design, the campus inspires and empowers employees, reflects the company’s brand, and fosters collaboration and productivity, and a connected community. The majority of the campus is a bike-and-walk-only zone and blends its built and natural edges to draw the outdoors in.
The project is pursuing LEED v4 and ILFI Zero Carbon certification. Work included performance of Life Cycle Analysis on various building scenarios, assistance with the development of the EC3 embodied carbon tracking tool, and development of performance-based specification in coordination with suppliers and contractors.
