KPFF provided structural engineering services for the demolition of an existing building and construction of a new modern 11-story office building. The building is approximately 360,000 SF and includes office, parking, retail, food court and pedestrian plaza. The Health and Human Services Agency, the Department of State Hospitals, and the Department of Developmental Services is housed there with a capacity of 1,150 employees. The project is targeting LEED Platinum and will be Zero Net Energy. The building will use 60% less water than a typical office building of its size.
