KPFF is leading the final design development for the NE 120th Street widening for the City of Bellevue between NE 16th and Northup Way, revitalizing a multi-modal arterial in a developing neighborhood that includes a new light rail station. The design includes roadway widening, separated pedestrian and bicycle active transportation facilities, retaining walls, fish passage culvert crossing including a raised roadway profile to accommodate the crossing, utility relocations and upgrades, stormwater quality treatment and flow control, landscaping and streetscape, driveway modifications, stream restoration and realignment, and compensatory wetland mitigation.
Another project highlight is a pedestrian bridge that links the garage over a major city street to allow passengers to move safely from the garage to the station without interacting with street level traffic.
