This LEED Gold Certified design-build project includes three buildings and a landscaped plaza. Rather than replace the aging city hall buildings, the City decided to restore the buildings, which included the relocation of the new 82,000-sf Hall of Justice and the restoration of the Civic Center Plaza. Additionally, modifications were made to the existing parking areas, cross-walks and curb extensions and miscellaneous site improvements were made to the areas around the Richmond Arts Center and Richmond Auditorium. KPFF also designed the striping and signing improvements to accommodate anticipated traffic volumes.
