Background

Greg Buccola is a Managing Principal at KPFF, where he leads a collaborative, structural engineering Team of Teams across Louisville, Lexington, Nashville, Birmingham, Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Washington, DC. With more than 20 years of experience, he brings a deep understanding of structural systems and guides others to solve problems that transcend engineering conundrums. His resume of work involves an array of markets, including higher education, healthcare, industrial & manufacturing, living/housing, and adaptive reuse projects.

Greg started his career as an intern in KPFF’s greater Los Angeles office, later earning his masters degree in earthquake engineering from UCLA in 2005. He relocated to Kentucky in 2011, founding KPFF’s Louisville office in 2017.

His approach is grounded in empathy, mentorship, and growth mindset, shaped by his experiences as a cancer survivor, his community involvement, and being a dad to four. He enjoys traveling with his wife Valerie and together they advocate for positive outcomes in foster care.
