Ian originates from the Bay Area and joined the Protective Design Group in early 2018, sparked by much of his graduate studies and his personal desire to tackle unique challenges as an engineer. Ian has developed a passion for performance-based design and excels at providing solutions to the exciting design problems that arise in his work. Ian has a hunger for adventure and feels most energized when exploring new destinations and cultures around the world.
I grew up in Thurston County and graduated from Saint Martin's University in Lacey. I enjoy spending time outside and making the most of the brief months we get sunshine in our rainy state. I love traveling and exploring new places with friends and family, whether it be an hour car ride or 6-hour plane ride.
For me, bridge engineering is a way for me to give back to my community in a meaningful and impactful way. As an Idaho native, I am passionate about providing Idaho communities the infrastructure needed to safely get to work, school and contribute to the state’s economy. Working at KPFF has provided me with the support needed to pursue this passion and make it a reality.
