Background
Sam joined KPFF’s San Diego office in 2012 and has grown his practice and network in spite of multiple relocations as a Navy spouse. Now based in Washington, DC, Sam oversees projects, mentors junior engineers, and supports his clients from coast to coast. Some of his most memorable past projects include the Borrego Springs Library and the Torrey Pines High School Performing Arts Center with RNT Architects, the Mingei International Museum transformation with LUCE et studio, and the Satellite Utility Plant and I-5 Switching Station at UC San Diego with HGW Architecture. At home, Sam enjoys traveling and visiting loved ones with his husband, going on walks and playing backyard fetch with their two corgis, and undertaking various creative pursuits including photography, gardening, baking, and even sashiko embroidery.
