Background
David McMullen is the Managing Principal for the Seattle Bridge Team. His passion for bridges began right out of college in 1983 at his first job with the Illinois Department of Transportation. Moving from IDOT, he added to his engineering tool box with a project in the Mississippi River, Melvin Price Locks and Dam, and a project over the Mississippi River, Clark Bridge. Now at KPFF since 1997, he focuses on a wide variety of bridge designs. He enjoys bridges for their close connection to the user and unique opportunities to play with form and function. David is an engineer who understands the interplay between solid high-quality engineering; community pride generated by beautiful bridges and the fundamental requirements of safety and usability.
