CHANGE: Bias & Microaggressions

July 28th - 4:00 PM PST – 5:30 PM. Lillian Tsai specializes in bias and microaggressions. Having experienced them first-hand in her years as a global high-tech marketing and communications executive, she pivoted and became a respected consultant, facilitator, and keynote speaker and expert in the implementation of cross-cultural fluency, and diversity, equity and inclusion interventions. Join us as Ms. Tsai uses video and example to show us how our microaggressions show up verbally, non-verbally, systemically and environmentally and how they relate to race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation and ability. Audience cameras will be off for this session.

July 30 - 4:00 PM PST – 5:00 PM. We need to talk. This follow-on session gives an opportunity for returning participants to discuss strategies on how to manage their own biases. We will learn and practice how to interrupt and respond to microaggressions as a target, a bystander or ally, or as an unintentional offender since microaggressions are often unintentional and unconscious. Participant cameras will be on for these small-group breakouts.
