The Westfield UTC renovation and expansion project includes 1.5 million square feet of new shopping, two new parking garages, and transit center to tie into the planned San Diego Trolley extension. The LEED Gold project adds 389,150 square feet of net new retail shops to the existing center located along Genesee Avenue and La Jolla Village Drive. Two new parking structures were constructed to accommodate the increase in sales area: the 5-story north garage, and the 5 story south garage, adjacent to the new Nordstrom’s department store along Genesee Avenue. The new transit hub includes bus and future light rail access to downtown San Diego.
