Located on the campus of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the new OCMA features flexible exhibition galleries, dedicated space for educational programming and open areas for public use.
A grand stair links the museum to the arts complex’s Argyros Plaza and adjacent performing arts venues while also serving as an inviting gathering space. Our Civil Engineers provided site grading, paving and utility design to support the aesthetic continuity of this plaza as well as the grading on the connecting deck for the separate, distinct outdoor meeting spaces.
Additionally, KPFF helped navigate complicated easements which granted other private stakeholder’s rights; developed a complex Water Quality Management Plan and designed site elements for the new building which complement the existing Segerstrom plaza.
The OCMA is committed to the access to art being a basic human right, so for the next ten years, OCMA will offer free general admission. All members of the community can enjoy their impressive collection featuring works of modern and contemporary art from Southern California and the Pacific Rim.
