KPFF Consulting Engineers, in association with The Nakaki Bashaw Group, provided structural and civil engineering services for this $70 million mixed-use project. The full city block development includes 4 stories of Type III residential apartments (319,000-sf) over a landscaped concrete podium, a 9-level parking garage, and 144,000-sf of ground level retail space. KPFF utilized a prefabricated metal bearing wall system for the residential framing and integrated the steel supports for several large billboard signs located above the roof. The signage components of this project were significant and are prominently displayed over the rooftop and on several building elevations. The garage construction consisted of precast concrete beams and columns with cast-in-place slabs.
