The project represents the benefits of team collaboration, virtual modeling and implementation of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD). The team used a 3D/4D building model to create a campus designed to be a place where “healing begins at the front door.” As the first Sutter Health IPD Project, it demonstrated great metrics: there were no RFI’s or change orders from interferences for conflicts between 3D modeling systems.
The 3-story medical office building (OSHPD III) is comprised of three components; two wings and a connecting link covering a total of 250,000-gsf. The lateral force resisting systems include special moment resisting frames and special concentric braced frames. The building is founded on shallow spread footings.
