First data center in Oregon to achieve LEED Platinum
KPFF provided structural engineering design services for this project delivered in two phases; Cascadia 1 included the rehabilitation and upgrades to an existing facility to house a 30,000 SF data hall and mechanical and electrical rooms. Cascadia 2 consisted of a new 100,000 SF steel frames data center adjacent to the existing building. The new building houses three data halls, mechanical and electrical mezzanine, and office spaces.
In 2012, prior to the start of work on the renovation and expansion, KPFF civil engineers compiled and submitted a pre-screening site assessment, performed a site assessment based on the proximity of water quality-sensitive areas, and prepared civil engineering drawings and specifications that documented all civil work. KPFF obtained a facilities permit from Washington County for the site access improvements located in the public right-of-way.
