KPFF provided complete civil and structural design for $113M seismic renovation and modernization of this 17-acre existing inner urban high school campus. This project involved extensive site reconfiguration elements including ADA upgrades, expanded parking, separation of drainage systems, on-site stormwater treatment and infiltration, reconfiguration of the sports stadium complex, a new synthetic turf football field, extensive retaining wall systems and revised grading and circulation. The LEED certified facility features rooftop solar panels and LEDs throughout. The school reopened in 2017 and students enjoy the numerous open learning spaces, a fine arts wing with a new 500-seat theater, black box theater, dance room and music rooms. The historic auditorium was transformed into a new media center with classrooms.
