KPFF provided Construction/ Project Management and civil and structural engineering services to the Paine Field Fire Department for the design and construction of a new ARFF to replace their existing outdated facility.  This three-bay, 14,000 SF station now serves the long-term needs for Paine Field, one of the busiest general aviation airports in the State of Washington and home to The Boeing Company’s wide-body aircraft production factory. This project was funded through a combination of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants and Paine Field/ Snohomish County resources.  As such, project estimates, programming, and controls were extremely important to ensure the project was constructed within the available funding and federal grant requirements including “Buy America” provisions, and that it stayed on schedule throughout design and construction.
