    Background

    Roger Young is the Managing Principal of KPFF's Irvine office.  He enjoys taking on the hard-to-build, highly technical projects to provide the structural system that will work best for each project.  He has been actively involved in the application of seismic base isolation to practical building designs including passive energy dissipation systems.  He has also published technical papers on seismic base isolation in a number of engineering journals. He is committed to his projects from the beginning and throughout both the design and construction in order to apply his 30 years of experience.

    Roger has been with KPFF since 1986.  His structural engineering career spans over 30 years and includes almost every type of project from essential facilities, that require sophisticated structural engineering analysis and design, to tenant improvements and everything in between.  Roger specializes in healthcare, education, commercial, retail, hospitality, residential and seismic rehabilitation projects.
