Don’s civil engineering experience started in the late 1980’s. Within that time, the primary focus of Don’s career has been on transportation, heavy civil, marine and waterfront projects. Don has significant Design Build experience on projects ranging in size from $3M to more than $700M. Don has also led dozens of significant marine and waterfront projects for a variety of operational uses including general cruise, ferry, cargo, rail, bulk cargo and containers. This experience provides Don a thorough understanding of the complex operational needs of transportation and waterfront facilities. Don has developed a superb ability to identify the nature of problems and propose cost effective solutions and manage implementation. This experience has led Don to gain certifications in both Design-Build and Port Engineering excellence as an ACOPNE Board Certified Diplomate of Port Engineering. The ACOPNE Board recognizes engineers who have an advanced degree of knowledge and expertise in the specialized fields of coastal, ocean, port, and navigation engineering. A Diplomate is considered one of the highest designations in the field, with less than 300 engineers currently having achieved the status of Diplomate within the Academy.
