    David is an award-winning bridge designer with 30 years of structural engineering experience and more than 200 bridge projects to his credit.  David brings to the table a full range of project experience, including concept design, preparation of preliminary and final design documents, and all phases of construction management. David is experienced in all aspects of bridge construction, including utility relocation, alignment geometrics, foundation design, and aesthetics.

    Project Experience

    David joined KPFF in 1997. From small-span rural bridges to grade separation structures and floating bridges, he has designed timber, concrete, and steel bridges across lakes, rivers, streams, roads, highways, wetlands, and railroad tracks.  He also has performed bridge inspections of timber trestles, concrete beams, plate girders, and fracture critical bridges.  David’s marine projects include a lock and dam on the Mississippi River, levee damage repairs, a low flow dam, and several projects related to the Washington State Ferry service.
