    Background

    As a LEED Accredited Professional, David incorporates sustainability in his designs and works to develop and incorporate new concepts in stormwater systems and civil engineering practices. He currently oversees KPFF’s LEED group to foster knowledge sharing and also to incorporate sustainable concepts in our practice. One of David’s most notable out-of-the-box green projects includes the Capital Hill Water Quality project. This project when completed will treat over 500 million gallons of stormwater runoff annually, which will not only be beneficial for Lake Union, but will also have a regional impact.

    Project Experience

    David started with KPFF in 1988 and is a civil Principal within our Seattle office. The breadth of his experience includes a full range of activities from public involvement and permit coordination, to preliminary engineering through design and construction. His projects have involved major utility extensions, upgrades, analyses, and relocations, stormwater detention, water quality enhancements, and water storage and distribution. In addition to his work with utility infrastructure, David has worked on over 500 site development projects ranging from single family housing to municipal buildings and large commercial projects. He has worked on major transportation projects for both state and city roadways. He has provided construction support for projects across the spectrum. In recent years David’s main focus has been on private development and design build projects for various developers and federal and state agencies.
