Background
Nick has always been intrigued by how buildings are constructed and understands how his designs affect other disciplines. Since joining KPFF in 2004, Nick has taken an inclusive approach to each project design, ensuring timely design responses help keep the team moving forward. Architectural monuments and a penchant for detailing exposed structural systems capture his professional interest. He lent his expertise to support the complicated geometry of the 23 story Atwater Place condos in Portland. The project required extensive analysis and offered Nick the chance to produce a unique solution to the design challenge. Nick also has in-depth experience with education projects. The Riverdale Elementary School offered Nick the opportunity to coordinate structural design requirements for the mixed precast and brick veneer cladding.
