John-Michael Wong’s role as an project manager, lead analyst and structural system designer reinforces the KPFF team’s ability to tackle even the most challenging projects. His analytical experience includes nonlinear finite element analysis for performance-based design, and his project experience includes a variety of higher education, residential, commercial, and seismic retrofit projects. Dr. Wong taught advanced structural analysis at the University of California, Berkeley and is a published author on topics involving lean construction, building information modeling (BIM), performance-based design, structural monitoring, and reinforced concrete design. He has also contributed to museum exhibits about structural engineering and earthquakes in California. He has experience developing and using tools for BIM, and designing database-driven tools for structural engineering applications. His innovation in these areas earned him the FIATECH CETI Award, recognizing significant achievements in technology deployment and implementation in the capital projects industry.
