Civil/Structural CAD Drafter/Technician

KPFF Special Projects is seeking a talented and driven Civil/Structural Drafter, motivated to join a team environment in our Seattle office.

As a civil/structural drafter, you will work within a team of engineers and drafters alike and become a vital key to producing construction documents that will become a part of our real-world infrastructure. Many of these projects will include civil site plans, bridges, retaining walls, underground structures, and marine structures such as piers, wharves, dolphins, floating structures, and ferry terminals.

KPFF is a large, stable company with local control of all engineering and client decisions.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

·Experience drafting in MicroStation and AutoCAD as well as setup of and compliance with various client or agency standards in MicroStation and AutoCAD.

·Willingness to learn and become proficient in unfamiliar CAD software.

·Good communication and teamwork skills.

·Prepare plans, profiles, sections, and details from rough sketches, verbal instruction, and engineers redlines.

·Structural drafting experience in concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and a basic understanding of the construction process.

·Prepare final drawings ensuring that all work (line work, blocks, etc.) conforms to the applicable CAD standards.

Minimum Qualifications

·5+ years of relevant experience preferred

·Proficiency in MicroStation V8i/Connect and AutoCAD

·Proficiency in managing external references within MicroStation AND AutoCAD environments

·Associate degreein computer-aided drafting, and/or equivalent experience and training
