Bridge and Heavy Civil Structural Engineering Summer Internship

Are you looking for an unforgettable and fun intern experience? Hoping to join an organization with a great work environment? KPFF Los Angeles Bridge and Heavy Civil Structural Group is looking for summer interns to join us for summer 2023!

This is a non-exempt, temporary position. All overtime hours are paid at a time-and-a-half hourly rate.

    • Real work environment & experience –2022 interns spent nearly 75% of their time on project work
    • Mentorship with skilled engineers & CAD designers
    • Hands-on training – nearly 25% of interns’ time is dedicated to training programs
    • Collaboration on interesting projects and visit active job sites
    • 40-hour work schedule, Monday through Friday
    • Flexible scheduling - core hours of collaboration are 9:30-3:30 PM
    • Monthly Way We Work stipend for remote work and transit expenses
    • Interns work Monday-Thursday in our Downtown office and have the option to work remotely on Fridays
    • Opportunities for educational events, relationship building, and fun!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Junior or above working toward a BS in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in Bridge design or structural engineering).
    • Transcripts must show completed courses in:
      • Structural Analysis
      • Mechanics of Materials
  • Senior or above working toward a BS in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in Bridge design and Structural engineering).
    • Transcripts must show completed courses in:
      • Structural Analysis
      • Mechanics of Materials
      • Concrete
      • Steel or Wood Design
      • Bridge related classwork

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to actively engage with a computer for several hours per day.
