Engineering-Structural-Intern- Austin, TX

The KPFF San Diego office is looking to hire a 100% remote, structural engineering intern based in the College Station, Houston or Austin, TX area. This person will work closely with other local KPFF engineers but will be expected to initially work independently from home, and periodically meet in-person and at job sites. As a valued employee, you will be fully supported by our San Diego office. The hope is that this person will eventually be hired to work in a new KPFF Austin, TX office as a permanent, full-time engineer.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current student who has completed as least 3 years of BS Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA or above in Bachelor’s coursework
  • Understanding of structural engineering fundamentals (free body diagrams, P/V/M diagrams, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering and in-process of obtaining Master’s degree in Civil/Structural
  • Previous internship experience in a Structural or Civil Engineering role
  • Candidates with transcripts showing completed coursework in:
    • Structural Statics and Dynamics
    • Steel Design
    • Concrete Design
    • Wood Design
    • Seismic Analysis and Design
