Designed to transform the patient experience, the new Gary C. Werths Building at Siteman Cancer Center brings together world-class care, clinical research, and patient support under one roof. This 585,200-sf, nine-story facility reflects WashU Medicine and Barnes Jewish Hospital’s bold commitment to innovation in outpatient cancer treatment.
KPFF supported this landmark project with full structural design for the new building, which includes three floors of clinical space, a patient drop-off area, one floor of shell space for future expansion, and a three-level parking garage with capacity for 550 cars. The structure also supports a climate-controlled pedestrian link connecting to the broader medical campus, easing navigation and access for patients and families.
To meet the high standards of care and comfort envisioned by the client, KPFF delivered efficient, durable systems to support medical imaging, treatment spaces, and future flexibility—all within a framework designed for long-term resilience. With its emphasis on healing, accessibility, and collaboration, this facility sets a new benchmark for cancer care in the region.
