KPFF was the structural engineer for this award-winning facility which serves as a semi-public arboretum. The center was designed to honor the late Virginia Merrill Bloedel. Wood portions of the building are supported on stone piers; the heavy timber is Douglas fir accented by very finely detailed steel connections.
