A wealth of experience in numerous project types positions Brad as an excellent design engineer and skilled manager. Brad perceives buildings as living objects that interact with people and serve many generations. He particularly enjoys medical and educational projects as they benefit students and those in need, and offer a critical service to society. With KPFF Portland since its inception in 1974, Brad's judgment and insight are hallmarks of his project leadship. For the award-winning Providence Cancer Center, Brad guided highly progressive structural solutions and encouraged inventive technologies. A portion of the 486,000 square-foot building was constructed directly over a functioning central utility plant. Steel plate shear walls were deployed to reduce conflicts in the building's multifaceted program, while 115-foot-long transfer trusses carry the load of nine floors above.
