Structural Engineering
Since 2002, the St. Louis office of KPFF Consulting Engineers has been providing more than structural engineering consulting services – we have shared in the creative process of bringing the vision of architects, contractors, and owners to reality. We have participated in a wide variety of building projects across the United States, including hospitals, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, parking facilities, tilt-up concrete buildings, industrial structures, theaters and auditoriums, hotels, schools, and so on.
Not all of our work is new construction. KPFF recognizes the significance of preserving and reusing older and historic buildings and has played a part in the revitalization of numerous existing structures. We know that working on these types of projects requires a special blend of research into archaic construction techniques, a willingness to get dirty and outside-the-box creativity.
Our experience working with existing buildings dovetails with our expertise in seismic strengthening and Performance Based Design strategies.
One of the firm's Principals and at least one Associate or Project Engineer is involved in each and every project we take on. We try to match the right technical abilities and personalities that best serve a particular client and project. The needs of the project always take precedence over our internal organization.
KPFF engineers are skilled in all building materials and structural systems. We make extensive use of technology to analyze and optimize structures, as well as render them in three dimensions. Even though our work often requires sophisticated analysis techniques, we strive to create simple, constructible, economical structures.
Civil Engineering
Building upon KPFF's tradition of combining civil and structural engineering services in one office, in 2009 we added Civil Engineering services to the KPFF St. Louis office. KPFF’s civil engineers have been involved in a wide variety of projects across the country including educational, health care, military, municipal, residential, governmental, waste water, storm water, mixed use, industrial, commercial, office, and retail.
Our engineers collaborate with architects, owners, developers, contractors and governmental agencies to provide complete design services from project inception to completion. Our civil engineering services include site analysis and selection, planning, land development and infrastructure design, and involvement throughout the construction process.
Our engineers understand current rules and regulations and are leaders in implementing sustainable design elements for a variety of projects and situations. We work with clients and team members to develop concepts and solutions that are practical, permittable, constructible, and economical.
